Offering for schools

Expert presentation to schools

The educational measures are aimed at schoolchildren from year 6 upwards. Our expert presentations are adapted to the respective age of the audience and are carried out by doctors who work in the area of HIV and AIDS. These medical experts can draw on their personal experiences with those affected.

The different ways of infection, the process, the latest research and the social consequences of the illness are discussed with the young people, as well as distribution of educational material and condoms.

Since the start of the project in 2006 around 71,000  young people have been reached. 194 partner schools (and rising) regularly book the presentations for the respective year groups. We have become a permanent feature of the curriculum, which we are very pleased about.

'I will survive' play - Raoul Biltgen

The play is aimed at schoolchildren from year 10 upwards with prior knowledge of the topic of HIV and AIDS.

In the one man show (played by actor Michael Wanker) the audience find out the entire breadth of emotional conditions after an HIV diagnosis and what it means for a person to be infected with HIV. Watch a short clip on YouTube.

Not only successful in Hamburg, the Foundation, together with Michael Wanker, puts on the play across the country and now across the world. In December 2013, Michael Wanker was a guest of the German School in Shanghai (Pudong and EuroCampus), in 2014, the Alexander von Humboldt School in Mexico City (North, West and South Campus) is on the schedule.
